Canix is a cannabis ERP that came out of Y Combinator in 2019 and won TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield the following year. It targets cultivators, manufacturers, and distributors, and its center of gravity is the grow: plant tracking, harvest workflows, nursery and yield forecasting, and the compliance reporting that sits on top of all of it. The feature that operators tend to buy it for is hardware. Canix pairs with Bluetooth scales and RFID scanners so harvest weights are captured at the plant instead of written down and keyed in later, and the company reports that cutting the transcription step speeds harvest logging substantially. Its Metrc integration is bi-directional with automated validation, so records sync both ways rather than requiring a manual export, and the mobile app works offline for teams in rooms and fields without reliable signal. The other differentiator is costing. Task management captures employee time against specific activities, which feeds labor into cost of goods and supports profit analysis down to the gram. That matters under 280E, where labor tied to production is one of the few costs an operator can defend as inventoriable. Canix reports serving more than 1,000 facilities across roughly 30 states and six countries, with over $500 million in orders processed. In January 2026 it acquired Trym, a cultivation management platform, adding environmental sensor monitoring, yield forecasting, and mobile-first cultivation workflows. Retail is the notable gap: the platform is built for the supply side, so vertically integrated operators still need a separate POS.
